Dr. Joyce is a Bay Area native who is excited to return to Sansome Dental as a dentist, after working as a dental assistant at Sansome Dental while completing her education. She obtained her Bachelor’s of Arts degree from UC Santa Barbara in 2011 in Cultural Anthropology, and received a Master of Science Degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana in 2014. She obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska in May 2020. She has had the privilege of working under her uncle and mentor, Dr. Moran, and will be continuing his legacy of personalized and comfortable dental care as of July 2022.
Dr. Sean C. Moran, DDS

Dr. Moran is a San Francisco native and attended high school at St. Ignatius in the City and undergrad and dental school at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He will be retiring this year after 34 years of practicing dentistry, the last 27 years at Sansome Dental. While he will miss the many great relationships he's made with his patients, he is looking forward to relocating to Charleston, South Carolina and spending time with his partner and two dogs exploring the countryside along the way. He likes hiking, biking, gardening and traveling. He is looking forward to volunteering with the local Preservation Society and the Dental Alumni Advisory Board at Creighton University.
Dr. Joyce Y. Cheng, DDS

Dr. Cheng is a periodontist that specializes in the treatment of gum disease, soft tissue reconstructive plastic surgery and dental implants. Dental implants are a great way to replace missing teeth and also provide a fixed solution to having removable partial or complete dentures. Dental implants are very natural looking and can enhance or restore a patient’s smile! Dr. Cheng graduated from UCSF with a specialty in Periodontics in 2011 and has been working at Sansome Dental performing periodontal surgeries, including placing all dental implants for Sansome Dental since 2012.

I have been working at Sansome Dental since 2007, and I feel that I have built a strong relationship with my patients. I live with my husband, two daughters, and two cats in Alameda. In my free time I enjoy hiking, museums and movies.”

I am a retired RN and originally received my nursing degree from USF. I came to work for my brother, Sean, in 1996 and have enjoyed the dental field for many years working part time. My hobbies are playing golf with my husband and friends, gardening and traveling. My husband and I have 5 granddaughters, who keep us young and fit! It has been wonderful working for my brother who will be retiring this year and I am fortunate to work for my daughter, Dr. Katie Joyce!

Born and raised in "The City," I have always lived in and called San Francisco my home. Attending local public schools, my dental assisting career began at City College where I received my RDA license and certification. Over the past 20 years of experience my interest in dentistry has continued, due mainly to the everchanging advancements in dental technology, dental education and dental products. The privilege of working on and interacting with the many interesting and diverse patients often found in the dental office, has also been an important factor in keeping me grounded in my chosen career. Outside the office, day hikes on Mt. Tam, Stinson Beach or Point Reyes are often places I can be found. Some of my favorite travel destinations usually involve a National Park, with Zion and Bryce among my favorites. Within the city, ACT productions as well as the smaller SF Playhouse and the Smuin Ballet are often venues which I enjoy. I started working at Sansome Dental in 2022.

Born and raised in China, I am fluent in both Chinese and English. I enjoy travelling as well as sports. Currently, I reside in Alameda with my husband and two college sons together.
